A Logosynthesis Case Example
I met Béatrice, an experienced hypnotherapist trained in Logosynthesis, for the first time in one of my Master Classes in Paris, where she worked with me on a personal issue. This year, she contacted me after my keynote speech at the Logosynthesis Day conference, during which I emphasized the importance of addressing racism and ethnicity in our work.

My talk had moved her deeply, as a woman of color who had been affected by it all her life. After an email exchange, she made an appointment for an online session.
In the session, Béatrice told me she wanted to be more courageous in overcoming racism in society, but something in her was blocked that kept her from becoming active.
We didn't need much time to start, because the word "racism" was already active as a trigger, with a distress level of 8. To resolve the distress, we used the Logosynthesis Basic Procedure shortcut (see the Logosynthesis Lexicon). The term "racism" was neutralized fast and went from 8 to 2. She felt more relaxed and said, "It's not my fault."
Then the question came up, with vehemence: “Why? Why all this racism?” The level of distress was 11, even though the scale only goes from 1 to 10. When we addressed this question as the trigger, an image of a woman in ancient times showed up, in a landscape with boats, where people were enslaved to work on a sugar cane plantation. She went through a gate, and she felt trapped. We processed this.
In the following image, she saw the woman again, old and feeble, still being forced to cut sugar cane, with the thought, “It will never end.” I asked Béatrice if she herself was this woman, and she told me she was an ancestor. We applied the shortcut again on the words “This will never end!” and suddenly time shifted. Béatrice now perceived the ancestor immediately in the room where she was sitting for the conversation with me. The woman was screaming with anger and rage. When I gave Béatrice the whole three sentences on the woman's presence, sending her energy into the light. The presence of the ancestor was resolved.
After that sequence, everything was neutral, quiet. Béatrice felt lighter and said, “I have the right to speak about racism, and I can do that in an intellectual way. I don't have to carry it in my body.” I asked her about the “Why? Why? Why?” that had been so disturbing before. She said, “That’s history. I don’t need to know why. She's an ancestor, and now it's less painful.”
After this intensive process, she developed ideas with me about how she could deal with racism in her community, against the background that racism exists, that she can't change the world, but that she can support people within her radius of action as an individual.
This case example shows that the trauma of ancestors can freeze as a pattern in the energy field of a person in the present. Through Logosynthesis work, we can release these energy patterns, freeing the person in the present as well as the ancestors. This work is enormously important because it breaks the chains that transmit trauma from generation to generation.
In this process, you don't need to access or identify with the intense emotions of the people involved: These are nothing but frozen energy patterns that belong to another space and time. They have diagnostic value but don't contribute to resolving the blockages.
In a followup email, Béatrice added that the frozen energy from ancestors prevents us to occupy our place in the here and now, in the host country. It also prevents is from deploying our professional projects.
