The model

What is Logosynthesis?

Logosynthesis® is a new, comprehensive system for healing, development, and professional guidance. It is used in coaching, counseling, psychotherapy, and educations—and as a tool for self-help. The model supports people in finding their deeply personal path in life. Logosynthesis is easy, elegant, effective, and readily teachable. The system includes a model, principles of change, and concrete interventions.

Logosynthesis is based on an integration of concepts from many schools of change: psychoanalysis, NLP, hypnotherapy, transactional analysis, gestalt therapy, and energy psychology. Experts from various disciplines therefore recognize principles of their own schools in Logosynthesis. However, the combination of these principles is surprising and unique.

Logosynthesis is embedded in a coherent, comprehensive view of humanity: humans are more than body and mind. A soul, a Higher Self, an Essence has always been part of the human experience. This Essence gives meaning to our lives.

Body and mind are tools for shaping our lives. Many tend to identify with these tools, believing that they are their emotions, their suffering, their thoughts, their needs. Logosynthesis helps to re-establish one's connection with one's Essence and to find deeper meaning in life.

Willem Lammers has registered the name Logosynthesis® as a brand to protect its use by certified professionals.

The Founder of Logosynthesis®

Willem Lammers MSc, DPsych, TSTA (1950) is a Swiss-Dutch psychologist, practicing psychotherapist, coach, and certified trainer in Transactional Analysis (TSTA). After studying psychology at Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands and a brief stint at the medical faculty of the Free University of Amsterdam, he worked at the Netherlands Asthma Centre in Davos, Switzerland, from 1979 to 1993. In 1987, he founded the Institute for Applied Social Sciences in Bad Ragaz, St. Gallen, Switzerland. From 1993 to 2012, he worked full-time at this institute, training professionals in coaching, counseling, supervision, and organizational development. In 2010, he received his doctorate in Psychotherapy by Professional Studies from Middlesex University in London with a dissertation on the history and development of Logosynthesis.

Willem Lammers specializes in the subtle nuances between body, mind, and soul. Logosynthesis is the synthesis of his work in this field into a new form: a holistic model for guided change, incorporating elements of psychoanalysis, humanistic psychology, transactional analysis, and energy psychology. In 2007, Willem founded the Institute for Logosynthesis in Bad Ragaz, which he directed until 2017. The International Society for Logosynthesis (LIA) was founded in 2014.

At the 20th Congress of the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology in Orlando in 2018, Willem received the society's award, the ACEP Award, for his significant contribution to energy psychology.

He published 10 books, some of which were translated into several languages. After a period of books and articles on coaching and consulting topics, his focus since 2007 has been on publications about Logosynthesis.

Willem Lammers currently runs a practice in Bad Ragaz and is dedicated to the further development and dissemination of Logosynthesis through training groups, lectures, and publications in the press and on social media. He has developed curricula for the continuing education of professionals, since 2014 within the framework of the Logosynthesis International Association, which he co-founded.

The association defines criteria for advanced training, issues certificates for Practitioners, Instructors, Master Practitioners, and Trainers, and guarantees the quality of Logosynthesis practice. This ensures a clear separation between training institutions and the certification process.
